Is this Saturday, Aug 18, 2012, a good day to bring down the Leak amp for everyone's assessment?
-
Okay, maybe some other time then.

Take two on this response. First was in Spanish. I recommend the 3rd of November. That's looking like the date I will next be able to come in. Still shocked by that find of yours! If nothing else, bring it in again on that Saturday! :P

Well, that date is probably fine if I haven't flipped it by then. I've been giving it a lot of thought and, sadly, I can't keep the unit out with my very special needs son. The Mullards wouldn't last a week. Playing it hidden in a case would ruin half the fun for me and possibly shorten it's life span.
I still may keep it stored until the day he goes out on his own, but
A) I don't know for sure that will ever happen
B) If it does, it won't be for years and both the amp and I would have to survive for that long, and
C) I could really use the cash (see A&B).
It is a very challenging decision.
I took one shot at selling it locally and getting visitation rights, but either the cash cost was too high or the thought of having me come over was! ;D

I can completely understand your said points. For the price you got it, a flip is always tempting. Then again, I haven't heard it. Some things just sound too nice, hidden or not! ;) Best of luck with any of your decisions!

Maybe I'm just low maintenance, but I am basically happy with the sound of my Marantz 2230.
This one flip could literally cover a couple years of record purchases.

FYI that was a four year old thread.
