Title: New speakers in the HT
Post by: OldiesButGoodies on December 15, 2014, 07:52:16 PM
I replaced the Polk RTI12s and Csi5 center with Polk 65RT in-walls.  With the Polk behemoths out of the way the Carver Amazings are breathing and imaging great.   The home theater sounds fine too,  but mostly I am happy the ribbons have their space.

ooouch - I guess I deserved that for forwarding every Bose ad in Craigslist to Rev.  Will need to dream up an appropriate counter attack.  If you are going to tag me with Blose,  please let it 301s or 501s or even 901s - but not acoustimass cubes!

I will take pictures and share soon.

Now that the speakers are in-wall I can move the screen closer to the wall.   Despite painting the back wall non-reflective flat-black the light bleeds through the (acoustically transparent) screen and projects back - which is a pain.

I have heard the Polk in-walls and have been very impressed!  Good to hear that the big Carvers have the space you need.  inwalls and on walls are getting real good for HT.

Are the Polks in-wall 'in surround' or just replacing the fronts?
