Title: Marantz 5020 help needed
Post by: EmperorNorton on October 27, 2016, 04:39:11 PM
Starting to diagnose why this deck rewinds fine but toggle switches will not lock in for play or FF.  There is a plate with slots that runs along the row of toggle switches.  When toggles switch is pressed, the plate catches a hole in a part connected to the toggle and locks mechanism into place until stop or another switch is pressed.   the Rewind hooks properly but the play and FF do not catch.  Any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Mike

Sounds like you need to look at the play and FF/RW torque adjustments.  Move the springs to a different position (after cleaning any caked grease, dirt etc. that may be messing things up).

thanks.  I will try that.  It seems to be extremely clean though.  Will get out the deoxit.

DeOxit for dirty pots.   Lighter fluid to clean springs.
