Are you kidding??? $10!!!

wow must be a record lol sorry for the pun ;)

Here's the story. I didn't actually buy it for $10. Even the worst thrift would know that Beatles records have value. But one of them (GW Murrysville) got in a bunch of old jazz records that they didn't know had value. I bought them ($1 each) and traded two of them ($2) plus $8 insured shipping made the $10.

Nice! Don't know that much about that box. Mono?

No, all stereo (which I prefer, heresy, I know). But they are all UK pressings (which I also prefer, I hate the Dexterized crap) and all analog (the set is from the 80s). Plus, the OCD in me likes having all of the pressings be the same. You can spend forever chasing which pressing of which album is the best. Lots of minutia in Beatles collecting. I can be basically content with this (at least content with the core stuff, I'll still want to upgrade my US MMT to a Horzu, and collect the Anthology and BBC vinyl, the Hollywood Bowl, etc.). Plus, the price was definitely right for me! It was one of those wonderful trades where both sides walked away feeling they had done well.

BTW, I found a German Apple Magical Mystery Tour at The Attic for $20. It is the only analog version of the album that is true stereo throughout (well, except the second half of "Walrus", but there is no true stereo analog version of that anywhere). I also found a first press Bell Sound stamper version of "Hey Jude" (I know it is first press because the label has the working title of "The Beatles Again") at HPB. I'm pretty well set on the core Beatles catalog now.

Since Photobucket broke the link to my picture, and my post can't be edited, I'll just add a random pic from the net here for anyone who doesn't know what a Blue Box is. My doesn't have the anniversary logo on PPM.
