59 Bel Air vs. 09 Malibu crash test

The crash dummy in the '59 Chevy gets effed up.  No seat belt or air bag, just a real bad time.

Why trash that classic?
1959 Chevrolet Bel Air vs. 2009 Chevrolet Malibu IIHS crash test

This was probably a car from the "cash for clunkers" bail out.  Obama made sure nobody drove the cars traded in.  They were all smashed.  The Automobile Unions wanted potential used cars off the market!

Very interesting... after hearing for years about how much safer those big steel behemoths of the dark ages were turns out engineering and technology trump the big heavy steel bodies.
