Sansui 2000x from cl
« on: January 24, 2015, 10:18:40 PM »
been working on this for a few weeks now, replaced about a dozen caps and six transistors, also redid a bunch of sketchy looking solder joints, when I got this the right channel was very weak, both channels now seem equal. Have a little static on rt side, can hear in aux or phono mode with no input, though Much less than before, probably still have some caps and transistors to do, happy I didn't screw this up so far and have just been playing it for the last few days.

That is very encouraging.   I haven't had the guts to undertake a project of that scope yet, but I'm working on it.

Got a lot of advice from an AK forum member, especially selecting parts, making a parts list was a pita. I want to do a full restoration, but I'm torn, risk vs benefit.

Finally closed this up today after about a week of running it on my work bench, got it running my optimus 1b's, so far I'm happy with the results. I think it looks good as well.

That is a very nice looking receiver.  Good to know you got sounding as good as it looks.

Excellent!  The receiver looks great.  If you have it sounding good all your time and money was worth it.  Sansui are fine pieces of electronics.  Congrats on your success!
