Audio Stand
« on: March 27, 2017, 06:07:17 AM »
Good Morning All,

As it turns out, the wife really is not a fan of my big/tall audio stand.  Fair enough, this delightful woman already puts up with a pair of enormous cat coffins in the living room....  That being said, if anyone has, sees or knows where a decent stand -preferably something wider than taller and wooden- can be found or bought, drop me a line.

i use the Vesta system furniture from Ikea,  with some mods to make it stronger and more open in the back.  not too expensive and seems to be spouse friendly.   As with any Ikea product,  assume it will not survive a single move.   :(|)

Is that Besta?

I'll make that trade for the time being.... cheap and aesthetically pleasing to keep my lady happy until something  better comes along.

I use Besta for most of my albums in my main listening area. They offer a metal frame with feet that is very reasonable and extremely sturdy....    Other albums are in trunks modified with wheels on all four bottom corners instead of the usual two wheel.

FYI, a friend of mine back in my home town, uses stacked trunks  for equipment racks. His SO really likes the look...  he just removed the tops/ hinges and cut sections out of what should have been the bottom. It really does look very " decorator".

Hey RT,

I have had great success with a Sanus stand I found on Craigslist.  Very sturdy, vibration resistant, and customization as far as how many shelves you need.  I too like wide and low as opposed to skinny and tall.  Here is a link to what is probably most comparable in their current product line:

Before that I used a Bell'o stand that is tall and skinny, now designated to band equip/PA duty.

Both good brands in my opinion
