My mind is addled but I think that WZUM used to be at 1510 on the AM dial?  I recall they were kind of underground FM programming for a while, but just up the dial from groovy QV (1410 KQV,  with Jim Quinn on the 6 to 9 shift, before he got religion)

I could be wrong.....

Earl Hooker - 2 Bugs and a Roach. Earl is a cousin of John Lee Hooker. Not well known but a great blues musician.

This week was the anniversary of Ramones' Subterranean Jungle release so I gave it a spin

I also played The Upsetters/Lee Scratch Perry - Super Ape, always a fun listen

Guess the Mofi folks did the best they could with the original recording.  Very quiet,  but not the best recording to start with IMO.  Comparable to the SACD.

Wait a min what do you have against Journey now judge Wopner?  The early stuff is good - Evolution,  Infinity (closer to when they were the cover band for Santana). If they do half-speed mastered versions of those I have cash. 

(No excuses - I love that Double Vision record -I had just graduated from high school and fell for their sound. For the record - I like Abba music too - there - I came out)

Now listening to  this -  music is great - recording sucks like a cheap 1958 reel to reel recorder:
