Got my new McIntosh MA6100. Paired it with my XR-16s and a Denon DCD-1520. Sounds super freakin duper. Check out the pics...
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

..... Just a little addition to my last post...
God this is a beautiful piece of gear! yeah, it sounds amazing, but that's what's to be expected, but it just looks so damn good! I think I'm on  Mac bandwagon. I wish I was rich enough to afford their new stuff. I took a video on my phone of the main system of the guy I bought the amp from. it's effing amazing. This guy has a pair of 5 foot Mac speakers bi-amped on a pair of 350 watt per channel mac amps. He's got a mac cd player and a 2 mac pre's(one is just for show for the oscilloscope)  and a mac eq along with a music hall mmf9 turntable. I got to hear my future system for about 23 minutes and loved it!! McIntosh is god for me right now!! I'm gonna try to get the video up...
