Pioneer Speaker Plugs

Probably a long shot, but does anybody have any of the damn things?  I'm now using my Pioneer QX-8000 as it was intended - that is, in full quadraphonic glory!  I've got the speakers connected, but it would be a whole lot better if I had the proper plugs, rather than the rig-job I've got going on now.
Any help is appreciated!

If you mean the plugs that look like standard 120 volt A/C plugs, only with one blade turned 90 degrees (with two screws to attach the speaker wire opposite the blades) they are available new from www.classicaudio.com, but are rather pricey at $25/pair. 
I love the 1970s vintage Pioneer receivers and have owned a few, most of which are missing the plugs.  My cheap jury rig is to take old lamp cords with the molded plugs still intact and twist one blade.  This may require a slight bit of cutting with a Dremel tool or fine tooth hack saw blade to complete a full 90 degree twist.  Good luck.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm talking about.  I've been digging around online, and I may have a DIY solution.  If I can squeeze in a trip to Lowes (job hunting, and sick kid at home) I may give it a go.  If it works, I'll take and post pics.

Heh...thanks!  I may have a solution, if I can find a grinder or Dremmel tool.

Yep - got it sorted out.  The solution mentioned by MacGeek works like a charm!  I actually now have 2 extra of the plugs.  A buddy of mine come over yesterday with his high-speed grinder to narrow one of the blades, and the DIY solution now works like a charm.  They're kinda ugly, but hell - who cares?
