Rabbit's Briar patch
« on: March 13, 2011, 02:53:15 PM »
Yesterday TNRabbit hosted his annual get together. I was a little late, having stopping by another buddies house to check out his system. I think I got everyone's name and forum handle correctly, if not I'm sure ya'll let me know

When i got there I found Thuffman, Master Blaster, Rainman and Madmaster checking out Rabbit's 5.1 SACD tunes

Rabbit was showing Graham, I think his name is Graham, anyway I'm calling him Graham, all of the Sunfire and Rane components he has.

Here is Madmaster, after talking with him I learned he has one helluva set up at home. I'm sure we'll be checking that one out soon

Rabbit uses this table to hold the remotes for his Sunfire set up. You can see those awesome speakers in the background. Madmaster would take note of where Tom was sitting and gradually increase the speaker volume up.

Madmaster had Gypsy Woman cranked up to -8.5 on the TG IV and Tom stayed right there, enduring all 16 minutes of that song. What was that Tom? Did you say something? What...?

I must say, I have never heard that song that loud, boy did it sound wonderful. It gave a good testimonial how the Rane gear can help your system...what Tom?

Here's Graham, F1nut and Madmaster in the listening position..Madmaster, what's that in your hand? I thought so, Madmaster is evil with the volume control. That look on his face is pure delight

Later on MB and Rainman would move over to the listening spot

Here's madmaster, F1nut and Thuffman enjoying the tunes and ice'd cold beverages

Continued...

Rabbit patch continued

Here's Rabbitt showing Graham how we all wake up and pray to the Sunfire before we begin the day. Ehm..cough..cough..hack..wheeze..er...what's that center channel speaker?

Here's Rainman, F1nut and Thuffman relaxing by the pool...er table

Here is rabbit convincing Thuffman that this is the remote control for the Rane units.

While Tom enjoy's his favorite ice'd cold beverage

Rainman, not believing what he is seeing, quickly moves in to capture the moment...I dunno, something to do with Tom's drink of choice

Rainman made a move towards the bar and Rabbit moved in to intercept him, Thuffman is giving that look like he's seen that before.

Here's Madmaster, Rainman, F1nut and Thuffman enjoying the music.

It was a great time, I had to roll out of there a little early, but I had a good time meeting some folks from different forums. Looking forward to next time

I would like to thank Gary for his hospitality. It was good to see him again and also see Tom, Tom and Mike again. I also enjoyed meeting Robin (tinpan) and Randy (madmaster). All in all, good tunes, good food and good folks. You can't ask for more than that.

I'm getting worried about Mike. I called him today and never heard back from him....starting to wonder what Tom and Tom did with him.  :o

Jesse, you are most welcome. Thanks for bring Rainman down with you.  It was good to see you guys again--I'll try not to make it 2 1/2 years next time~

Jesse, were you doing "The Monkey" in this pic??

Robin, we installed the pool table exclusively to hold all the remotes.....actually playing pool is a great side benefit~

Thanks to all who came.  In total, we had folks here for almost 11 hours start to finish.  Just wish I hadn't imbibed quite as much Glen Fiddich as I did....   ???

LOL.....I was trying to lean forward to hear Tom, but the wall was in the way, hence one arm on the wall holding my fat ass up.

Incidentally, the center speaker (5.1 SACD) is a ganged pair of Realistic Minimus 77s.  The surrounds were ganged pairs (parallel) of Minimus 7s.

I'm using an Ashly 1001 set about 190 hz.  I played around & found I like it best there.

The gang shootin' the breeze around the bar...that's tinpan on the right in the blue shirt, since he didn't appear in any of the pics HE took~

Sorry about the crappy cell phone pic.

And there's a correction to this pic's comments:

That's thuffman, MaddMaster, beemers, & Rainman, left to right.
