My real name is John.

I grew up not far from this shop on the north side of Pittsburgh.  I currently live in Beaver County.

I'm looking for a smaller speaker setup for my man cave.  The RTi6s mounted on the wall are just too big.  Plus the rears can only be positioned straight ahead.

Any thoughts from this group on smaller speakers?  I'm considering KEF 3005 or Definitive Technology ProCinema 1000

Depending on your budget, suggestions will vary.

If you're trying to keep the cost down, Infinity Betas are great little units.

Welcome John!

Have you considered in wall speakers?  Is it practical for your mancave?  Also, your budget could be a factor. 

The Rti6s are a nice speaker.  If they are too big and you like the Polk sound, try finding a pair of R15i or RTi25s.  Look Here

Thanks for the warm welcomes and suggestions.

In wall speakers may be an option, since my wiring is already inside the walls.  I could make a cutout and then the grill overlay would make it nice and clean.  The only problem with in wall, in my opinion, is it becomes a little more permanent if I want to make changes in the future.

Go for the in wall.  Hang pictures or create some back lighting over the empty space.  You can always put some acoustic panels over the cut outs after you remove the in walls.  You should probably have the acoustic panels anyways.  Good luck!

Thanks for all of the help.  I went with the KEF 3005SE.  I'm very pleased.  Nice, clean sound.  Sounds even better than the larger Polks I replaced.  The smaller form factor is aesthetically more pleasing in the room.
