The Green Forest Restaurant- Brazilian Churrascaria
« on: August 28, 2011, 02:28:14 AM »
Went to the Green Forest with my neighbors tonight to get our feed bag on. We've made it an annual tradition among the guys on my block.  I ate so much that I had the "meat sweats" by the end of our gluttonous session  .

I live five minutes away and have never been there.   Is it expensive?

I need to go there. I'm probably less than 2 miles away...
Next time Adam Richman comes to town he needs to check that place out!
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

I've been to Green Forest once.  It is pretty good.  If  you ever get a chance try a Fogo de Chao, they are the best.

At $42 a plate its not someplace we visit often, but it is all you can eat so well worth the price.
I cannot say enough good things about it. You have to be ready to eat though because it is so good that you cannot resist until you can't take another bite!

It is an experience like no other. Each table has a token with a red side and a green side. When the green side is visible, the waiters will incessantly visit your table with different types of meat, and carve it right onto your plate!

They will not stop approaching your table while the green side is showing. When you've had enough, flip it over to the red side, and they will leave you alone.

Just look at all the different meats that that are available:

BEEF RIBS
SHORT RIBS
CHICKEN
FLANK STEAK
LEG OF LAMB
PICANHA (TENDERLOIN)
HANGER STEAK WITH GARLIC
PORK LOIN
BABY-BACK RIBS
MARINADE CHICKEN THIGHS
RIBEYE STEAK
HOMEMADE BRAZILIAN SAUSAGE
SKIRT STEAK
TOP SIRLOIN
TURKEY
FILET WITH BACON
LAMB CHOPS
FILET MIGNON W/PARM

The buffet is also very good for your salad and side dishes.  Good food!  Worth the price!

I went to Fogo de Chao in DC this year for the first time; it was FANTASTIC!  $50 each seems steep, but for what you get, it's not a bad deal at all.
