Forty years ago on this day, Pink Floyd released the album that would represent both a masterpiece in itself as well as an indicator of what was to come. Meddle, we salute you!

Anybody have any idea what that is supposed to be a picture of?  Always kind of looked like a baby dinosaur head to me.

It's a refracted picture of a human ear under water. Hipgnosis originally wanted to do a close up of a monkey's anus, however the band disagreed.
