I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

Ed,
Would you allow me to demo them in my man cave? If yes, we can discuss the logistics.

I have a guy coming to check them out Wednesday. If they are still here after he leaves, I have no problem with you auditioning them.

Excellent speakers Ed. Why are you selling them so fast?
They are really good for jazz. And do most music really good. I remember I loved the tweeters in those. Very open sounding, with a huge sound stage.
Good luck with the sale.

I was loving them the night I got them. My wife and I had a couple friends over and were putting back a few. After a couple hours on the DQs I decided to put my old standbys on and it was night and day. As soon as music started, My buddy, who's not an audio guy, was like, "what the ..." and just started laughing. I bought them to A and B, and keep or unload based on the result. They were cheap enough for my to be able to get rid of them quick if I decided to. $360 for $2000 speakers from 20 years ago... pretty good deal
