New Speakers/Akfest
« on: May 01, 2012, 05:07:04 PM »
I picked up my new speakers and they are sounding really really awesome!! They are the Vapor Audio Breeze. Upgraded to Raal Amorphous Core ribbon tweeter, regular Wavcor woofer, upgraded to Dueland Resistors, crossover is in the base of the stand, matching stands.
Many people whom I asked thought they were among the best sound of the Akfest show. I agree. :D lol...
As, I mentioned before I would love to have some folks over for a listening session when the speakers are broken in and dialed in. I will let you know
Honestly, these are some of the best speakers I have ever heard. :P I am super happy with the look and sound of these speakers.
The sound: speakers totally dissapear, super detailed but also very musical, lush mids, awesome extension and tone in the highs. Very surprising bass, and have not needed to hook in my 12 inch subwoofer.
Akfest was fun. My first show. I won 1500 dollar Kubala Sosna interconnects as a door prize. Yippeeeeeeeeeeee!
I think my pics are too big, so I will send you to web gallery if you would like to check em out. First few are the Breeze, Cirrus is in Walnut Crotch, and the White ones are the Aurora. All from Vapor Audio.
Peace,
Todd

Sorry I missed you at the Fest.  I stopped in the Vapor Audio room a couple of times and asked about you, but to no avail.  Should have given you my cell # I guess.  I too thought the Cirrus speakers sounds amazing being driven by the Eastern Electric components.

Very nice photos!  Is that some kind of subwoofer behind each of the speakers?

Todd - I really like the way you describe how hey disappear, etc.   Will add these to my list of speakers to consider (I am looking for monitors to replace my Paradigms).  Enjoy!

Very nice Todd!
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

Carl, those are subwoofers made by Vapor. Two 8 inch woofers with passive radiators on the sides.
Thanks Shape-shifter.
