Let us pick another random brand of speaker to toss in and claim them to be superior...
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

Haha the ribbon was replaced, the crossover was tinkered with, and the driver was replaced with a JL.

Ed, i'm building a pair of modified AL3's with RE Audio subs.  We'll see how they do against the JL's.
