My Desk Setup
« on: March 29, 2013, 05:53:15 PM »
It took me awhile to get around to it but here is my current system.

All the C-1 mods besides the output gain were done at the shop. Thought I'd take some sexy pics of the guts.

Speakers are going to be my next upgrade. Not sure what I'm looking for yet, possibly DIY if I get some time this summer.
Desk:
ObjectiveDAC, Technics SL-1500 w/ Grado Black Cart -> NAD 1000 pre -> Emotiva Airmotiv 4
Bedroom:
Creek 4330R -> DefTech StudioMonitor 450
Home Theater:
Onkyo TX-NR809, Rotel RB-981 -> Boston Acoustics VR-40, VR-12 Center, Soundware surrounds, Velodyne VRP-1200

Very nice.  I have the Def Tech Studio Monitor 350's on my desk.  But, they are sitting on top of about 8" of Audio and Stereophile annual directories.  What are you using for speaker stands?
Mac stuff, Sony HDR-F1HD AM/FM/HD tuner, Denon DRS 810 cassette, Denon CDR-W1500 CD recorder, Music Hall MMF-9 w/B&O MMC2, B & O 4002 w/B & O 20 CL, Revox A-77

Thanks guys.

My speakers stands are really fancy:

I just have two of these, in black, turned upside-down.

They aren't a permanent solution but for now they get my speakers up to the perfect height and their little feet actually isolate the speakers pretty well. When I get around to building some speakers I'll also build some matching pedestals.

Have to love it.  I never would have thought of IKEA and the price is perfect.  The 450s must be just a bit bigger than my 350s, your "stands" might be just a bit large for my speakers, but look like they'll still work.

Great setup all around.  I can spend a half day inside a Ikea store dreaming up ways to use their stuff in my audio projects.
