Stuff I don't need but want

If you happen to know where I could find one:

- A cheap 10" take up reel,  large size center.
- (no surprise here) A switcher that will allow me to triple the number of tape loops in my pre, so I can have multiple tape deeks connected simultaneously
- A decent 31 band equalizer (in hindsight I should have borrowed sparkys B 9624 to at least try it - could be a good piece to upgrade by recapping with good stuff)

I traded to Behringer to Tom. I'm sure he hasn't developed a strong attachment to it.
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

OBG. Read my post under general discussion titled "tape selector boxes" posted yesterday. I have a spare 10-1/2" take up reel. I have been told it was designed for professional use. Pretty heavy duty with very tight tolerances. 6 screws per flange.

Doesn't the Behringer need a proprietary, calibrated mic?

Rane makes a few models of EQs, but I think they go down to 25hz, not 20.  Audio Source also had a few models, some with an RTA.  Back in the day, Altec made a killer 31 band, 1/3 octave EQ, but it could get a bit noisy.

I have a spare Mac, but it's only a four band unit.  Center frequencies and Q are selectable, but it requires a pink noise generator and RTA to properly set up.  I use Macs in all my systems and channels and have never needed to adjust more than seven bands, which the later models provide.  I also have have an RTA , which for a few beers I can use to help you set up any EQ.
Mac stuff, Sony HDR-F1HD AM/FM/HD tuner, Denon DRS 810 cassette, Denon CDR-W1500 CD recorder, Music Hall MMF-9 w/B&O MMC2, B & O 4002 w/B & O 20 CL, Revox A-77

What is this "need" thing of which you speak?

Yes, for the RTA. It's got a 31 band eq too that is a separate feature.
