A few pieces for sale
« on: September 11, 2013, 05:36:08 PM »
I just had to dump a bunch of money into my car and I need to recoup some funds which means selling a few pieces that aren't being used.

KEF Cantata Kit speakers. Perfect operational condition. Could use a sand down and stain. Also, no grilles. $200

Sound Valves VTP 100 tube preamp. Great condition with extra tubes. $500

Technics SL1200 modified. This is one of a kind. It was modified by Tom and Anders at Vintage Hifi of Pittsburgh with Litz wire, RCA jacks, and IEC jack. These are good performers stock, but this one was brought up to audiophile standards. No cartridge. $600

I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

Yeah, I hate to have to sell this gear, but shit happens. Drawback to owning a 200k mile car...

Lowering the price of the preamp to $400 with the original tubes (no extras).

It's not being used. I got the TT I've wanted for years. Not sure if it sounds better, but I like it more.

Now I remember - that is the TT you and your wife went to get in Canada right?  What was it again?

Do you have any idea how lucky you are?  If I ask Olga to come with me to get a piece of gear in Canada she will just burst out laughing and mock me for even considering asking her.

Must close laptop,  landing.

It's the Yamaha YP-D10.
It was very cool to have my wife come along for that trip. Like a little mini vacation with the added bonus of collecting an awesome piece of gear.

Never mind.   I really should read to the bottom of the page before typing responses.
