Hello Vintage HiFi people.
FNG here, yes, first post, yes, have something for sale...
Up for sale- 2 Electro Voice Patrician HiFi Loudspeakers.
1-Mahogany finish
1-Walnut finish
Both units in good working condition, cabinets have minor scrapes and scratches yet are still in rather good condition considering they are pushing 60 years old.
General Condition:
All drivers/horns intact and of course Pat IV's have the fabulous 18WK driver in the low bass horn assembly!!
Grille cloth on both units is intact, un-torn and in very good condition; the metal 'footballs" do have some oxidation but are still very presentable. No grille 'rosettes' missing.
The Mahogany unit is the older of the two I believe, and is missing the 'Mid Bass' and 'Presence' tone controls. The 'Brilliance' control remains but is very 'scratchy' when used.
The Walnut speaker has all three tone controls and two of them there are missing the inner knob(s). All three tone controls rotate but have very little effect on the sound of the unit.
Please check out the attached photos; a much more detailed photo set of both speakers is posted at:
www.flickr.com/photos/107726359@N08The Mahogany speaker has been in the family since 1963-64 and the Walnut unit, 1976-ish.
It goes without saying that the sound from these units is, mildly put, exceptional. And though they were designed for hifi mono and the then upcoming stereo RECORDS, these units LOVE CD's and the various downloadable musical formats. Ageless…
$12,500 for the pair.
Available for local pick-up in Los Angeles, CA.
Actual shipping costs are TBD until sale is completed and final destination agreed upon. Prefer to have buyer set up crating and shipping arrangements.
I've done a bit of research both here on this forum as well as checking local references and I'd recommend
www.uship.com or
www.cratersandfreighters.com to handle the shipping duties.
For shipping purposes, the dimensions of EACH of these speakers are as follows:
62" high, 39" wide, 29" deep, net weight 310 lbs.
Please note that these figures are referenced from an original Patrician IV sales flyer.
PM me with any/all questions, will get back to all as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance!
