I just scored a Geneva (formerly Nortronics) PF-250 table top bulk tape eraser on eBay. Luckily nobody else bid so the price was great. This thing is awesome & heavy. My 9 amp handheld worked ok for years but with 10.5" metal reels was a lot of work to get the job done right including having to flip the tape over and repeating the process. Forget the more common 5-6 amp units. This PF-250 is 15 amp, 3000 gauss flux field, and I'd guess weighs 12-15 lbs. The top surface is 10"x7" and is about 3-3/4" high. It has 2 positions for the post; one for 7" reels and one for 10.5" reels. One pass of one side of a 10.5" tape with metal reel totally erased everything. Very complete erasure.
Sparky: should I be plugging this into the 20 amp dedicated line you installed for my stereo or is the standard wall outlet safe? Thx
