Had no idea this was going to a group meeting , or I would have sent more.
I would have been interested in your opinion.
In my opinion, no one can sample a wine with less than a very large glass of it.
Smelling corks and crap are just that.
Actually, corked wines are less secure than screw on caps, and the best way to buy wine is in boxes. I will not need to defend that if you google before you attack me.
I put mine in Mason jars because I am a proud RedNeck. Make no mistake, this is excellent wine.
Wine snobs abound and appoint themselves that.
Beer is the same.
Making great beer is much harder than making great wine.
Too that end, of course I mean buying the ingredients and not growing them.
If you want to make great beer, stay as sterile as you can. That is the main ingredient. Read that again as being clean is not good enough. Most make poor beer at home because they are not sterile. Later they pat them selves on the back for a job well done, but you taste the flaw and say nothing.
It is the same with wine, but wine is a little more forgiving due to the alcohol content.
Also wine does not require the boiling stage.
Most can make good beer from scratch, but for wine, most will need to order the grape juice.
For what I sent up, I bought all juice, no concentrate. Not sure that is better, but it is what it is.
I used juice from the correct grapes, and the right yeast to produce a Pinot Noir - my favorite..
I think it came out true to style, but I am prejudiced
I made it in June, and it will improve greatly for at least a year - I think it is very tasty now.
I would like to hear any comments and advise on wine making.
If all did not puke at the meeting, maybe I could send a larger sample.
Actually, I am nervous about this as you can detect, but make no mistake, I make the best BEER in America.
