I am the original owner of these Polk Monitor 10A speakers, which I am selling (reluctantly) only because I need the room.

Lots of extras make this pair a real collector's special, which is why the asking price is a bit above average.

Overall Condition: Very Good. Specifics:
  • Grills are in good condition; all original, with intact badges, posts, and fabric. There is some pilling on the fabric, but no holes.
  • Cabinets are in good condition; all original, including the oak veneer. Some minor scratching here and there, and some wear around the bottom edges/corners.
  • Drivers and Passive Radiators are in excellent/mint condition; all original.
  • Tweeters (the well-regarded Peerless SL1000s) are in excellent/mint condition; domes are round and fuses intact.
  • Crossovers, connection posts, etc. are all original and unmolested. (Have at 'em, if that's your thing...)

The pair also comes with:
  • Original sales brochure, good condition;
  • Pair of owners manuals, very good to excellent condition;
  • Original Polk shipping cartons, in fair condition, with original foam inserts in very good condition;
  • Reproduction Polk speaker stands, built from MDF in 2011, as per measurements provided in the Polk forums* but with sand-filled pedestals covered in walnut-stained wood veneer and added mounting points in the leather-grained black vinyl covered base for carpet spikes--also included.

You can easily find a lower cost pair of Polk Monitor 10s, but it might be hard to find a pair more complete and original.

Will send additional pics if requested.

FYI, those are Peerless tweeters, not SL1000's which is good for you and potential sale, however $240 on this forum and in this region is probably not gonna happen. Good luck with sale though and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the correction -- I'll update the post accordingly.

Agreed that the asking price is high for this forum/region, but perhaps the extra goodies will be worth it to those looking specifically for Polk Monitor 10s.

Thanks again--much appreciated!

I'm curious as well?

How does one go about correcting a mistake or modify a previous posting on this forum?

Or is it not even allowed?

Yes the peerless are MUCH better then the sl 1ks.  While the sl lks don't sound to bad, at certain frequencies they tend to sound rather harsh.  Something you don't want in a speaker that other wise sound quite well.

Purchasing these Polk Monitor 10As (with the, you know, PEERLESS tweeters) would, therefore, not be a mistake.

Thank you!

They're my babies. My first speaker purchase, new, ~ 1981. They have been well-loved, and worth every penny I scraped together to buy 'em.
