I am rediscovering all over again, my vast collection of downloaded music.
These Polk SDA'2b studio's (I think) are turning out to be quite enjoyable.
I have yet again, found the emotion that was lost with my sony SS-TL6's. They sounded very nice, but I was always left hanging; wanting more. With enough power and available base on hand to satisfy a small club, db's were used instead to provide that emotion.
Emphasizing a silky lower midrange, These Polks provide a soundstage that places you not in front of the performers, but them all around you. It's as though you are right on the stage itself, facing them.
It's quite unique and very easy on the ears. very little fatigue.
Too revealing were the Sony's, so less then perfect recordings were ousted in place of ones that were near perfect for the systems boundaries.
The Polks are nowhere near as revealing, so. crappy 128 files have a place yet again as when they were first created.
Every speaker I have ever owned has sounded way better then my ex Bose 901's, but, until these elderly Polk cabs came along, none have raised more of an emotional response from myself and others.
Just another brief review.
