got this little amp Kenwood ka 2002, from goodwill on line, only about 15 Wpc, but sounds ok to my ears, hooked to another set of RS speakers, solo 3 models, seem to pair up well.

The first watt is the most important one.   Glad you like it.

Very cool Mongo.

That might be a good amp to do your first recap project on!

Thanks Guys, first amp I've owned, here's a question, there are jacks for pre in and main out, as well as tuner, tape and 2 phonos,  so do you use a pre amp, if so what's the purpose of the other inputs, and I've read this amp can be connected to a higher powered amp via the main outs. Also  I'm hoping to locate a manual and schematic.

Try Hifiengine.com for a manual and schematic.  Is it pre out and main in?  If so, the pre-out is where you can connect an external power amplifier.  The main in allows you to connect a source, such as a CD player with a volume control, and by passes the pre amplifier stage in the amp you have.  This may improve the sound for CD playback.

Typically, the othre inputs are to connect a tuner, record player and tape deck (likely record and play jacks).

You can also use the pre out - main in to add EQ or other effects without tying up a tape monitor loop.

ok, another question, i apoligize for my ignorance,  I paired up the amp and the speaker because they're both rated at similar low wpc, both in the under 15 wpc area, will I hurt anything running higher wpc speakers, thinking the optimus 1b set I just got.

You own an integrated amp. The pre amp and amp are both in one chassis.

Much more important than matching the maximum watt rating of a speaker (it matters a lot less then you'd think) is getting speakers with decent efficiency, especially with a relatively low powered integrated amp. For example, a speaker rated at 84dB will not play as loud as a speaker rated at 94dB driven with the same amount of power. Also, the nominal ohm rating of the speaker is important. An 8 ohm speaker will be an easier load than a 4 ohm speaker. In fact, you should check that your integrated is rated to drive a 4 ohm load before trying any speakers with that nominal rating.
