Mono TFM-25's on Carver Plat IV's
« on: December 31, 2009, 10:05:55 PM »
I must say, I am very surprised at the sound.   :o :o :o The subs on these Plats are almost fully broken in. They have been getting deeper every week.  ;D ;D

Is that the setup you've had hooked up? If so, I think you know how I feel about the sound.... AWESOME!!!!
April's only 4 months away and thats when I'm gettin the m500 turned into a mkII. I was thinking when I do I'll swap amps with you so you can do a thorough test. I don't have any speakers capable of handling 380wpc and there is a 15 day return policy, so if it goes pop I can return it. Your opinion matters probably more to me than my own. I'd like to hear your review........ What do you think?
I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

I had TFM-35's in mono up until tuesday. One went to MA so that put the screws to the Plat system.  I seem to think the 25's in mono sound better. :o As for the 500, bring it to a meeting and we  will test it well. ;D

That's surprising!! What's the drop in power? You'd think with power hungry beasts like the plat IV's it would be the more the better. That's what I get for thinkin!

I think there is a 100w difference between the two in mono. I will need to check my facts on this one.

That's only like a db drop at that power level. Sound quality has very little to do with spl... I'm anxious to hear them :D. I was blown away by the 35s!

For some reason people tend to over look the TFM 25 when choosing an amp.  They go right to the 35.  Not sure why.  I have had several 25's and like them very much.
