Record Store in Paris
« on: April 16, 2015, 09:02:20 AM »
I was able to visit a record store in Paris.  There were about 15 stores closely located to ea other,  but I was only able to manage visiting one due to time constraints.   Three floors,  but only one room dedicated to LPs.   So Jerry's Records looks gigantic next to this store in terms of variety volume etc.  Prices were good 1 to 3 euro per record.  Bought 7 - all looked to be pristine.  Will et you know when I listen to them (still in Budapest,  flying back tomorrow).

Cheers,

OBG

Did any of the records say "Imported from USA" on them?

As I think you advised I went with French pressings only.

Paris is nice!

You need to spend some time in Vienna on one of your trips to Hungary.

I didn't mean any of the records you bought (I give you more credit than that).   I meant any of the records in the store.   We get all excited about German or Japanese imports here, I just wondered in American imports are noteworthy there.

Ah- I understand now.

I scanned the jazz and classical sections only, and there were no American pressings there that I could detect.

Scorpio - I looked for your record but could not find it.

My plan of attack for the next trip is to proactively decline most of the dinners  and focus on record hunting. I  went to Paris, Budapest and Rome,  and all I remember is a blur of statues,  big buildings, and restaurants.  I don't see the value in the diners - I am just not a foodie.  I am happy with a turkey club or a pizza.   So I could have used  all that time to hunt for LPs and master tapes,  etc.

For now I get a couple of weeks break and then back overseas.
