Oscilloscope Wanted

Hello

I'm looking to get into DIY Synth making, and the first step is to get a workbench stocked. I'm looking for an Oscilloscope.

(Excuse my ignorance here, but this is what I think I need)
Preferrably Digital...I need it to:
observe DC signals, really slowly changing signals or frequencies above 20KHz
observe the output of a VCO, VCF, or VCA when the frequency is in the range 20 to 20KHz.
capable of DC coupled input.

If you have something that would work and are looking to sell, let me know.

i don't really know jack shit about oscilloscopes, but i do know that you can get stuff that just hooks up to your computer.  i believe it to be cheaper and more reliable than a standalone unit... hehe i said unit.

Before retirement the automation engineering company I worked for used a lot of Tektronix scopes. They were expensive. Eventually everyone was transitioned to using their laptops for oscilloscope duty. Much better. More flexible, easy to read and one less separate item to deal with. I know I could see them better.

Basic Tools

Remember that with PC sound card based scopes you cannot observe DC signals, really slowly changing signals or frequencies above 20KHz because their inputs are capacitively coupled and their bandwidth is limited. You will be able to observe the output of a VCO, VCF, or VCA when the frequency is in the range 20 to 20KHz. When it comes to very fast logic signals or very slowly changing signals (ADSR, LFO, etc) you will need a "real" oscilloscope capable of DC coupled input.

I don't know much, but I can't see why you would want to synthesize a signal outside the range of human hearing.    Unless you are looking to put a new spin on playing John Cage's "4'33"".
