Bad Denon Calibration Microphone
« on: November 18, 2015, 08:36:04 PM »
Two years after purchasing my Denon AVR-4520i,  I discovered that the microphone was bad (more accurately,  JimP discovered it).   I knew the microphone was iffy a year back because it developed a need to be flicked sometimes to get it to work properly (or the readings were low by 20dbs),  but I assumed once it worked the readings would be accurate.  Bad assumption.   After borrowing Jim's to test,  mine is definitely out of alignment.  Ordering a new one.

Two years listening to crappy audio on movies because this stupid mike.  No wonder turning Audyssey off made it sound better.   FYI - be aware....

I would solder a new cable on it before I gave up on it.

BTW, I also have one of those mics should the need ever arise.
