3rd gen Apple TV
« on: January 05, 2016, 03:18:49 PM »
Parents may have one not in use, waiting to hear back from them.

Currently using an old MacBook Pro for living room TV streaming. My wife and daughter use that to watch netflix, youtube, iTunes, etc. I need to pull that computer to replace a different MacBook Pro that needs a new battery. cheaper to get an Apple TV than a new battery, which may or may not fix this POS.

Should work fine based on my experience with AppleTVs.

They gave me a 2nd gen without a remote. Don't need the remote, just need to program an old, extra remote. I've got a 1st gen AppleTV, jailbroken and pimped out but it won't respond to any remotes anymore. Broken high tech gizmo gadgets all over this house, yet the 40+ yr old stereo stuff just keeps on keeping on.

In any event, if someone has a 3rd gen on the cheap after they upgraded to a 4th gen or HTPC or carrier pigeon, let me know.
