It does not 'feel' like it should work, but it does. You plug it in between your (USB) digital source and DAC (if the USB run is long, as in my case, I had to add an active USB hub to get it to work properly). It pains me to write this because I poked fun at those who bought it before I did, but for $50 bucks you could do a lot worse than this. It provides a significant improvement in detail and sound field clarity and separation between instruments etc. Remarkable.

I'd be curious to hear it. It doesn't "feel like it should work".

And all this time I put it in the same category as cable risers. Oops...

Wait a minute, you sold me all my cable risers. Funny thing though, some of the paint wore off and it looks like it says Pabst Blue Ribbon...

Am trying to get a JB in the system this morning.... once plugged in, my Mac Mini won't send output via USB.

You need to use a short cable to the Macmini or add an active USP hub. This put me off at first and I was about to return it as a result.
Then I heard the effect of the little bug, and the rest is history. Worth it.
