Audio Research D-115 DIY Tube Cage
« on: February 16, 2017, 11:06:18 AM »
Hey guys,

I bought an ARC D-115 about 8 months ago, but it unfortunately came without a tube cage.   So last night I decided build a DIY cage and i think it came out pretty great.  Just wanted to show it off, check it out:

It was scrap from my brother's work : ) Freebie. It's coated aluminum of some sort.  If anyone is in need I'll tell him to keep a look out for more.

Yes, that looks great.   I suspect we'd all have use for a sheet or two.

That's a very nice looking cage.  Nice crisp bends.  If I may add one comment....keep an eye on the internal temperature.  Tubes need to breath a bit. If the top gets too hot to put your hand on it I would be concerned.

Thanx schwarcw and ataudio.  I thought about that too and will most likely remove the cage during use. I may even put a little fan on my equip rack to circulate air
