Micro-Review: Emotiva C1 and E1 speakers

Brief summary on these:

The C1:

Build quality looks to be excellent, and the AMT ribbon/mid combination produced clearer dialogue than my reference (B&W HTM2),  only weakness is the low-mid-bass,  where it lacks the ability to produce higher dB levels.  I suspect this would not be an issue in a smaller room.  Recommended.

The E1s:

These side surround speakers have the weight and heft of a portable FM radio  (make that a small portable FM radio). Not great.  They are meant  to be hung on the wall.  The level of distortion in the mid to high range is, as in the C1, very low (even before applying Dirac), the attached pictures show response post Dirac).  In both the C1 and E1 it is clear they spent a chunk of time getting the baffle design (inc the tweeter waveguide) right to avoid issues.  All this aside, they are incapable of producing volume levels in a medium to large room and frankly,  are too small to do it properly even in a small room (IMO). Not recommended.

A three way center channel.   Interesting.
