Nakamichi 1000
« on: April 20, 2020, 07:21:12 PM »
GOOD AFTERNOON,

I just picked up a Nakimichi 1000 that has been in storage for a year or two.  Was told the usual "it was working we we packed it" and for all I know it may well work.

My question are,

Any precautions to take before plugging it in?

And what is recommended to clean the front plate.

Thanks,
Wynter

Any electronics that have been in storage for a while - I would definitely bring up slowly (like, over a day at least) to voltage with a variac. Allows potentially depleted caps to re-form safely.
