12 volt TV or screen...
« on: September 02, 2021, 10:33:53 AM »
Does anyone have a 12 volt (car) TV or screen I can borrow for this Sunday?  I am  attending a picnic in North Park & the weather does not look good!  :(  There is no electricity at the pavilion we are at...  Thinking of showing a movie might be a good option for the "rain day."  I don't have a portable dvd player, so I may need to buy one, I'll ask some of my other friends...  I guess a laptop computer would/could work too...  But 20 people around a 15" computer screen may NOT be the best, therefore the idea of a larger 12v TV or screen...

Open to other ideas/suggestions???  Thanks for reading & providing info...

Doing some research, I may go this route...  Get an inverter that converts 18v or 40v to 120v AC...  This way I can use a "regular" TV...

I have a very, very small portable tv that you can use.... let me double check it still works before we make plans, if you want to use it.
a bunch of nice sounding stuff. Nice that I'm finally able to actually listen to file music for the first time...

It's dead... I'll give it another go round tomorrow... but I don't think it's going to work.

I have an old 11" black and white tube set (RCA, I think), that runs on 120 V AC or 12 volt DC you can borrow.  I keep it for emergencies and power outages.  I once watched a Steeler game on it in my garage, the TV was powered by my boat battery (lost power for 4 days and didn't want to go to a bar).
Mac stuff, Sony HDR-F1HD AM/FM/HD tuner, Denon DRS 810 cassette, Denon CDR-W1500 CD recorder, Music Hall MMF-9 w/B&O MMC2, B & O 4002 w/B & O 20 CL, Revox A-77

Thank you for the replies & offers for 12v TV's...  Thank you!!!  I decided to purchase a Ryobi 40v power inverter for the TV/dvd setup as electronics draw very little amps/watts compared to refrigerators/appliances/etc.  I have a few 40v batteries for my lawn tools anyway...  :)

I hope to tryout the setup in the next few days...  If anyone is interested, I will post the results...
