Introductions

Hello all! I'm new here and just stepping into the world of vintage HiFi. I have a newer setup and a decent collection of vinyl so far. I just recently inherited my dad's old system and am going to replace what I have with it. Looking forward to getting into the hobby!

Welcome!   What did you inherit and what kind of music are you into?   I have a small vinyl collection as well, I estimate it at about 3000 now.

It's all sansui equipment that he bought in the early 70s. So not super vintage or anything. But I remember jamming to it when I was a kid and hope that it all still performs as good as I remember. And maybe 200 albums. I haven't been through those yet.

Sansui gear from the early 70s is great stuff.   The only thing to be aware of is that they used a glue that sometimes corrodes the capacitors.   If you power it up and it goes into protection don't assume it's toast and throw it away.   It you are handy at all, check the DC offset.   Read the first couple posts on the link below to get a good overview of how to do that.
