I just acquired a set of Acoustic Research AR-1 tower loudspeakers with the Sunfire-designed 500W powered subwoofers. One of the speakers works flawlessly, while the amplifier in the second speaker blows the 5A power supply fuse the moment the amp is turned on. Looking at the circuit boards, I don't see any cold solder joints or scorch marks and none of the caps are bulging or leaking and the two slow-blow fuses on the amplifier board are intact.
I am looking for recommendations of someone in the Pittsburgh PA area who can evaluate what may is wrong and fix it if parts are available.
