I have a NAD t763 receiver who thinks he's just a power amp. Here's the deal, the preamp section is shot... I just got done messing with the receiver and found out that the amp section works just fine (just plug into the "main in" section. Basically this is a very solid 100x6 power amp. Here's the manual...

I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.
