Dynaco score.
« on: August 08, 2010, 09:27:27 PM »
I just acquired some Dynaco gear. It is all working good. Don't know if I will keep it or not.  You guys know how I am, Gear moves in and out fast. Anyhow, everything is working good. I currently have the two Dynaco ST-70 amps running my Snell type B's bi-amped. It sounds pretty good... ;D They both appear to be in original unmolested condition. The one has a sticker saying who it was built by on July 17th, 1967.
The Dynaco PAS-2 pre-amp works real good, the previous owner did some mod's. He bypassed the  tone control's, and upgraded some caps. It is missing some knobs, and does not look great. But it sounds real good.
The Dynaco FM-3 is a excellent tubed tuner, I do not normally like tubed tuners but this one is great, and in very good condition.

Here are a couple pics as requested by the Z-man

Uh, if you decide to let that FM-3 go, and I can afford it after I purchase my books for the semester...

I'll bet those Snells are singing too!

I am in disbelief as to how many offers I have received for this Dynaco gear  :o :o
Still don't know if I am going to keep it or not, It does sound real good. But, if these offers keep coming, it will go.
However, I let Mikey borrow one, and I don't think he wants to give it back!!!

Snell type b and tubes...Klipsch Heresy and tubes...it doesnt sound like a hard decision to me.  great score. And, also, I am jealous of your bi-amp set up with the snells.

I think I am not a tube guy.... I prefer a high power solid state amp. I would like to score a nice pair of mono blocks, like your Denon's or similar.
I think the Snell's sound better with hi power solid state amps. I.M.O.
