A friend of mine and his father owned a local "high end" audio store back in the late 70's thru mid 80's. Unfortunately, his father has recently passed away; however, he leaves behind a stash of Soundcraftsmen equipment--demos, personal collection, some unsold inventory, some junk (?). I remember playing with this stuff back in the 80's and recall that it had a following back then--kind of as the "low end" of "high end" audio at the time. My friend has no interest in this stuff other than LIQUIDATION. Should I open my checkbook and load up the van? Any comments, suggestions, and/or rants welcome! I do know that this company eventually "de-volved" into MTX--much like Pioneer, Kenwood, Fisher, etc. Is the original stuff still worth a listen (or a buck)? I've seen some listings on the net, and the prices/ratings are all over the map...
