Always a work in progress... Here's the newest pic. Thank you Paden for the stereo rack. It was desperately needed. ;D

Kick @ss Ed.  Somehow when you were over at my place a couple months ago I knew you'd end up with a set of SDAs in the near future :-D

Congrats.

P.S.  Let me know if you want to do some X-overs.

Thanks Matt!! They really sound great. Carl has the x-overs taken care of along with upgraded tweets. If I do anything to these speakers, it'll be cosmetic. They have vinyl veneer which gets the job done, but real wood would look amazing.

Lookin' great Ed!  I'm glad that you stopped over yesterday, you are welcome anytime.  I'm sure the Polks sound great on your very nice system.  The room looks very cozy.

If you would allow me a suggestion, open the clear cover on your turntable while playing.  With the cover closed, it is similar to a stadium with a dome.  Sound from your speakers will actually resonate inside your turntable with the lid closed.  The trapped sound inside will be picked up by your cartridge.

Looks real nice,  but,

Do the Polks make your McIntosh speakers sound bad??

Not at all. I'd say they would rank pretty evenly. The polks sound bigger (SDA) and warmer than the mac's, but the mac's have more detail and control than the polks. Overall I think I'm very lucky to have two systems to listen to with speakers of this caliber.
