Are the handle attachments removable on Carver gear?
paden501:
Hey all.
I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment. We're furnishing my stereo room and the entertainment center we picked out won't properly fit my Carver CT-17 and SD/A-450. The width of both those pieces is 19" and I only have 18.125" in the cabinets. So I'm wondering if the metal piece that the handles bolt to is removable. I know that I can just remove the handles themselves, but I need to also remove the metal trim that they bolt to in order to make it fit.
Is that possible? If not, I fear there may be some carver equipment on the market here soon. :'(

Sell the rack, NOT the Carver gear....

The rack ears on both of those cannot be removed.
I am with falcon377, sell the racks and keep the Carver. Another option you can give them to me. I will go out and buy a rack that they will fit in ;D
But if you must sell the gear check with OCCD. I know he has some Adcom items that I think will fit. He has preamps and cd players. All are very nice and are just about as good as the Carver IMO.

Call Tom and have him double check to see the width of these. I am sure he can do a trade in on your Carver.
OCCD:
SCREW THAT RACK!!! However, there are other preamps you can use. CT- 26v 27v 28v 29v. The only CD without rack handles is the DTL-50 and the SD/A-360 handles can be removed. The 360 will give you the same sound as your 450.
;D
