Has anyone had any experience with this amp or any other Acurus amps? Are they any good? I'm going to have one in my possession here shortly.

I am confident that an SL-1200 is capable of outperforming turntables of much higher expense with minor modification.

The only thing I've ever heard about is the power toggle switch light burning out.  But other than that, that is all I've heard of.  Supposed to be somewhat powerful and stable.
