I stumbled across a bunch of Duke but the only one I liked was Grooves in Orbit.   I had heard so much about Newport but it did nothing for me.

I found the recent Intervention Records vinyl and it is amazing.   All records should be done this well.   It's a shame they are already out of business.

I listened to it last year.   Lots of good stuff until you hit the top 100 which is mostly stuff from the last year or two.   It actually becomes absurd in the top 10.

I've been through dozens of copies of this title looking for one that sounded "right". I just got a great deal (in part because the OBI is missing but no biggie to me) on a NM 1976 Warner Pioneer Japan pressing (Atlantic P-10123-A). Some would find it thin on bass as many Japan records are, but I don't mind tweaking the tone controls. The important thing to me is that it is carefully mastered and has the most even sound track to track that I've ever heard on this album. Great balance from song to song and none of the mid-track adjustments that plague so many of the US pressings I've heard. Plus the pressing is very quiet.

I still think that the album needs a new mix from the multis, but short of that I think buying more copies now would only be academic. I've heard enough to believe it's not getting much better than this.

Sometimes I post the same thing on my local home and my national one.   The thread there which I copied/pasted from is called Deja Vu vinyl.

Earlier a nice thrift store find.   A Sterling both sides gatefold Buckingham Nicks.   I love finding $50 bills at the thrift.   Now...

I love finding $50 bills at the thrift.

Especially one that I assume you have no interest in keeping, I know I wouldn't.

I already had a copy.   I'll keep one and flip one.   It's a great album.
