Tell ya what...if anyone wants to try my weight and see if it makes a difference before you go and spend big$$$ I will more than gladly roadshow it. Post you're in and all I ask is that you use it a reasonable amount of time to evaluate then send to the next on the list. The last one will send it back to me. Any takers?

I am in!!!!
Will you be at the meeting tonight?
-
No, but you can ask around and find out who is interested and let them know if you like. Wish I could, but stuck down here in South Carolina!!!! I will be seeing the Tom's next week on their voyage to Florida!
-
Thank you Kingman. If you do this, I Would love to try it.

No problem Mike...you're #2...who else???
-
What kind of table are you using it on??? And does that even matter? I guess the spindle is the same size on all tables, but I have seen some are threaded.
-
I use a Technics SL-QD35 direct drive. I know most think that direct drive is not the way to go but I also have at least 7 more non direct drive tables. HA!!! Spindle is the same....you decide if it's an audible improvement or " magic oil" !!! :P :P :P
-
I use a direct drive, Denon DP-51F. I love it. Been wanting to try a few tweaks on it. Weight and a better cart... I have been looking at a Sumiko Blue point.
Thanks again for the offer, and I am definitely in..

-
I am looking forward to trying it. I just put an Audio Technica AT-24 on my table, and what a great sounding cart!!! Also a Platter Matter sorbogel mat. This Denon is sounding awesome. ;D
-
I'm running an 8008 reference...really nice AT cartridge.
-
Adding Fairchance...Dave to the list...any more???
-
I will be on the list.

I am trying to upgrade that area these days. I looks at clamps and weights as some claim big benefits.
One guy I hold n high regard says that a better mat is the way to go.
He claims that weights and clamps add stress and drag that the turntables are not designed for.
Me, have no idea -- :'(

I finally was able to get to Tom's and pick up this turntable weight.. I put it on my Sanyo Plus Series table, it also has a Platter Matter Sorbogel mat and a Micro Acoustics MA-382 cartridge. I immediately hear a difference with the weight. I do know that in the case of MY system, it is a good difference. The higher frequency's are slightly more detailed. As I said SLIGHTLY. It is enough of a difference that I will be looking to purchase one.
Thank you Kingman for being so kind to let us all try it out for ourselves.
