Thanks guys... Both systems sound pretty nice. They are definitely poor man's specials :D, but they are nice for now. I'll post pics of my Wilson Watt Puppies on Krell and Threshold after I win the powerball.

king-edwin,

I know-I know.....I'm just a "pretty discreet" kind of guy. I've just never been that kind of person to say Hah ! Look What I Got. You follow me ?

I do promise that I will do it, because that's what Tom(OCCD) would ultimately would want me to do.

Not That My Stuff Is Better Than Anyone Elses Here, Or Anything Like That. I Just Don't Want Anything To Come Across The Wrong Way ED.

I hope that you and everyone else understands that ED ?--------BILL

Did the wife throw a fit or did you sneak it in and hope she doesn't notice?

No fit was thrown. She doesn't understand my addiction, but she really doesn't have to, and I don't expect her to.

I get that too... a lot of nodding and eye rolling, but luckly not much in the way of anger.

Kick @ss Ed.  Somehow when you were over at my place a couple months ago I knew you'd end up with a set of SDAs in the near future :-D

Congrats.

P.S.  Let me know if you want to do some X-overs.

Thanks Matt!! They really sound great. Carl has the x-overs taken care of along with upgraded tweets. If I do anything to these speakers, it'll be cosmetic. They have vinyl veneer which gets the job done, but real wood would look amazing.

Lookin' great Ed!  I'm glad that you stopped over yesterday, you are welcome anytime.  I'm sure the Polks sound great on your very nice system.  The room looks very cozy.

If you would allow me a suggestion, open the clear cover on your turntable while playing.  With the cover closed, it is similar to a stadium with a dome.  Sound from your speakers will actually resonate inside your turntable with the lid closed.  The trapped sound inside will be picked up by your cartridge.

Looks real nice,  but,

Do the Polks make your McIntosh speakers sound bad??

Not at all. I'd say they would rank pretty evenly. The polks sound bigger (SDA) and warmer than the mac's, but the mac's have more detail and control than the polks. Overall I think I'm very lucky to have two systems to listen to with speakers of this caliber.
