Two of our distinguished Forum members Ron (rgpit) and Scott (Bmwr75) have retired this week. I want to wish them the best of luck in their new found freedom! Both are still young men who ride motorcycles, love audio and we retire comfortably. Both of these gentlemen have become friends of mine through the Pgh. Vintage HiFi Forum. This is a wonderful place where many of us have become friends. I want to wish both of them the best of luck! You deserve a taste of the good life!
On a bittersweet note. Scott is moving to Mississippi this Saturday to build a house on a beautiful farm near his parents farm. We'll lose the local connection but I am sure we'll have Scott on the Forum for many years to come. Scott, I feel privileged to have you as a friend. We should have spent more time listening to audio than we did! I hope we have the opportunity again.
Poor Ron, I will forever make a nuisance of myself asking endless questions about streaming audio. >:D I value your friendship!
Best Regards and good fortune in the coming years!

Great post, Carl. You said it much better than I could.

I like this for two reasons.
One, Ron and Scott both deserve it. 8)
Two, this sort of thing opens up jobs for us younger folks in science, tech, engineering, and math fields. :)
Enjoy the south, Scott. That T-Bird can be daily driven down there!

Thank you Carl! It is a pleasure to have a fellow audiophile just around the corner, especially one as thoughtful as you.
I really look forward to getting back into DIY audio now that I'll have a lot of free time.
Good luck Scott! Post some photos of your new audio digs once you're settled in.

Good luck to both you fellows and your families! Sorry I did not get back out to Scott's to listen to his gear but we all know how that goes. At least I ran into him and his wife at the Greensburg Lowes!!!!
It is encouraging to see people taking advantage of their health and good fortune to be able to enjoy life and relax after they decide they have had enough of the full-time working life. We all know stories about people who worked until they dropped because they lacked any hobbies. I suspect that will not be a problem with most of us!
-
Congrats to both!

Very well said Carl... I do not know Ron or Scott well, just a few brief meetings at the shop or swap meets, but wish you both the best as you enter a new chapter in your lives! ENJOY!!! :)

I really look forward to picking your brains on a couple things.

I'll work until I drop because I lack any money.

Congrats guys!

Congrats!
I've been out of school for two year and I'm already incredibly jealous.
-
Congrats to both of you! Enjoy your new chapters in life.
Scott, take good care of 'my' Rogue Audio 120's (he he....so sad I sold them :(.......)
-
Congratulations guys. Hope you enjoy your retirement to its fullest!

Ron and Scott, Congratulations to the both of you. Enjoy the heck out of retirement and don't let anybody tell you guy's otherwise. All my best to the two of you.
Carl, thanks for taking the time to acknowledge and post this.

Congrats as well. I hope to retire next year, but more realistically in 20.
