Title: No longer do I have the shittiest sounding system.
Post by: GraphicFX on January 05, 2014, 09:14:12 AM
Just scored from CL a near mint pair of Sony SS-TL6, Transmission line speakers from our very own Joe Shaheen.  These are the big brothers of Mikey's. These things sound sweet.  After living with Bose 901's for 5 years or so, It took getting used to actually having a soundstage.

The more time I spend with them, The more I like them. I am driving them with some pretty serious Crown power, so I have to watch things a bit.

So far they out perform the 901's in just about every category, except for one: Percussion. Nothing I have ever listened to can replicate just where a drum is being hit like the 901's. This is probably due in part to their highly resonant cabinets. I guess thats what makes them float.

More to come along with some current pics.

Happy New Year to all
