Title: Dear Papabearjew
Post by: bearjew on September 18, 2013, 07:46:55 PM
You're on the phone with Bob Carver right now.  I figured it would be something that would make your day, so I coordinated with Tom about it.  I hope it was as cool as I think it is.

yep...it was extremely cool.  I owe you & Tom for that.  As you guys know, when the Bob called me I thought I was being pranked.  When he said Steve said you would think that, I realized it was really him.  Bob is an interesting man.  He asked me a ton of questions, mostly about my source material and what I felt about the difference between digital and analog.  He was intrigued that I have RTR tapes I recorded in the early 70's that still sound awesome to this day.  Naturally he found it interesting that I have a Phase Linear power amp (this of course is the product that put him on the map). After almost 25 minutes he had to run as dinner was being served but said he will be calling me back to continue the conversation before Carverfest is over.  I did offer my house for beta testing of new products.

What a cool thing to do for your dad.

Don't forget to bring him back some of the grilled pork! :)
